Many in the air show industry claim to be the first ground act but the truth is, Les Shockley ran his jet dragster at the Mojave, CA airport Air Race and Air Show in 1978. In 1987 a producer saw the Shockwave at a truck and tractor pull in Oklahoma City and wanted to book him at a show. Les has been a long time aviator and decided to do the Enid Oklahoma show. The Shockwave made it’s first ICAS convention in December of 1987 and before it was over, Les had booked 12 dates.

Wherever the Shockwave goes, it’s sure to get attention and plenty of publicity. The truck’s best performance holds the current Guinness Book of World Records at 376 mph on a two-mile runway.

“We not only give the fans the finest entertainment available, but
the act appeals to the race fans and truck fans who might not
otherwise attend an air show.” -- Les Shockley
